The second member of Mumbai's pace battery to be eliminated from the Indian Premier League in 2023 is Jhye Richardson. In order to treat a hamstring problem, Richardson underwent surgery in March. Mumbai purchased Richardson for Rs 1.5 crores at the ITL 2023 auction. He participated in 2021 for the Punjab franchise; however, he was absent during the 2022 campaign. He took three wickets at an average of 39.00 in three games.

According to rumours, Jonny Bairstow of the Punjab squad will likely miss the 2023 Indian Premier League season while he recovers from a rare leg injury. The T20 World Cup in 2022 and England's Test tours to Pakistan and New Zealand were both missed by Bairstow after he injured his ligament in a fall on a golf course in September 2022. But, Punjab has not yet released a comment regarding Bairstow's absence. In 2022, Bairstow averaged 23 runs per inning across 11 innings, with a 144.57 strikeout-to-strikeout ratio.

According to numerous rumours, Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer will have back surgery and will thus not play in the upcoming season. He will probably be sidelined for four to five months due to the injury and the ensuing operation. In the most recent ODI series against Australia, the 28-year-old was disqualified after complaining of lower back soreness during the fourth and final Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Finally, Shreyas was compelled to leave, and he could not finish the last Test, which ended in a draw. Iyer was chosen to lead the team in 2022 after winning a record-breaking 12.25 crore in that year's big auction.

Following his accident, the Indian Cricket Board reported that Pant had a ligament tear in his right knee and other ailments. He underwent knee surgery in Mumbai. Pant has hit over 2800 runs at a strike rate of 147.97 in 98 ITL games. In 2021, he was named the franchise's captain. Australian David Warner will serve as the Delhi's skipper during his absence.
1. Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai
Jasprit Bumrah, a bowler for Mumbai, ranks first on the injured list. Bumrah has been absent from the international cricket scene for some time. Since August 2022, the Indian international hasn't competed for his country. Due to a back injury, he could not compete in the Asia Cup and, subsequently, the T20 World Cup. Bumrah just underwent surgery for his injuries in New Zealand and will be sidelined for at least six months. The five-time ITL champion team has not yet named a bowler's replacement.
