Asia Cup has been in the headlines since the start of the 20-20 World Cup. The Secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah said that India will not visit Pakistan for the tournament. However, PCB were not happy as they claimed that India need to visit otherwise they will boycott the upcoming ODI World Cup in India in 2023.


Then, an emergency meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) took place in Bahrain on 4 February. After that, reports came out that India will play all of their matches in UAE. While the other matches will be played in Pakistan as per schedule. If India manage to get qualified for the final, then the final will happen in UAE.

After the meeting, an official statement also came out from the Asian Cricket Council. They said: "The ACC had a constructive dialogue on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Board agreed to continue discussions on operations, timelines, and any other specifics with a view to ensuring the success of the tournament. An update on the matter would be taken on the next ACC Executive Board Meeting to be held in March 2023".


Now, according to the reports of Espncricinfo, the tournament will take place in Pakistan. But, England, Oman, UAE, and Sri Lanka are frontrunners to host India’s matches as the neutral venue is yet to get decided. The tournament is scheduled to get happen in the first half of September this year. However, it will be played in the 50-over format and a total of 13 matches will be played in 13 days including the final. After hearing such reports, fans went crazy and they shared their news on social media platforms. They claimed that it will be very awkward to see Asia Cup is getting hosted in England, outside of Asia.
