However, in a major turn of events, the keeper-batter has gone on to make some shocking revelations. During an interview, Saha said that the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had assured him a place in the side. He stated that the 49-year-old had said that he need not worry about anything as long as he's the BCCI president.

Saha said that Ganguly messaged him on WhatsApp, after his 61 against New Zealand in the first Test in Kanpur. The 37-year-old said that the the legend congratulated him for that knock. His statement on Ganguly spread like wildfire.

"When I hit an unbeaten 61 taking a pain-killer in the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur last November, Dada (as Sourav was referred to by Bengal players) congratulated me over Whatsapp. He even mentioned that I should not worry about anything so long as he is at the helm of the BCCI. Such a message from the board president really boosted my confidence. But I failed to understand why everything changed so fast," said Wriddhiman Saha, as quoted by Zee News.

The Bengal cricketer revealed a conversation between him and India's head coach Rahul Dravid as well. He said that the "wall" had suggested him to consider retirement. Saha also said that the team management has told him that he will never be considered going forward.

''The team management had told me that I would not be considered henceforth. I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India team setup. Even coach Rahul Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement," he said.
