Former India skipper Virat Kohli is going through a bad patch for quite a while now. Apart from scoring two fifties in the Indian T20 League 2022 and one against Leicestershire, he has struggled to get substantial scores. Meanwhile, the 1983 World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar has offered to help Kohli. He feels that if he is given 20-minutes With Virat, he will be able to tell what the latter needs to do.

The 125-Test veteran added that as a former opening batter himself, he understands the trouble a batter has around outside the off-stump line. The former opening batter further said that Kohli's anxiety to get the feeling of the ball on the bat as the latter is not among the runs.
"If I had about 20 minutes with him, I would be able to tell him the things he might have to do. It might help him, I am not saying it will help him but it could, particularly with regards to that off-stump line," Gavaskar told India Today
"Having been an opening batter, having been troubled by that line, there are certain things that you try and do. If I get 20 minutes with him, I might be able to tell him.
"It goes back to the fact that his first mistake turns out to be his last. Again, just because he is not amongst the runs, there is this anxiety to play at every delivery because that is what batters feel, they have got to score. You look to play at deliveries that you otherwise won't. But he has gotten out to good deliveries as well on this particular tour."
Meanwhile, the fans have dug-up the past and recalled Gavaskar's statement during the 2020 Indian T20 League. "Lockdown mein to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki (Virat Kohli has only trained against Anushka’s balls during the lockdown),” Gavaskar had said. The fans are making a mockery of the Mumbaikar's offer on Twitter.
