'Why ruin someone's future?' - Fans lash out at Indian selectors for ignoring Sanju Samson from the World Cup squad

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has become the talk of the town on social media after being ignored by the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The selectors opted to go with Rishabh Pant despite his poor outings in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022. The 24-year-old failed to deliver both with the bat and behind the wickets as well in the continental tournament.

This decision from the selectors didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans. They went on to back Samson for his form and lashed out at the Indian selectors for consistently forgetting his name for the major international tournaments.

Sanju Samson had performed very well in the last few white-ball assignments for the men in blue. He also proved his worth for the team with the bat and behind the wickets. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from South has played only 16 T20Is even after making his debut seven years back in the year 2015. Fans used to question the Indian management for ignoring Samson to play out of form Rishabh Pant. And now, selectors are again on the receiving end of criticism from the Indian cricket experts as they kept the Delhi batter above Samson in the team for the World Cup.

Notably, the Indian team will also play 6T20Is ahead of the commencement of the marquee tournament next month in October. These matches will be of the two three-match T20I series against Australia and South Africa respectively starting on the 20^th of September next week.
