'Purane din yaad aa gaye' - Fans left in awe of Irfan Pathan after seeing his brilliant swing against South Africa Legends

The India legends have started their campaign in the Road Safety World Series 2022 with their first match against the South Africa Legends. Both teams locked horns at the Green Park Stadium of Kanpur. Former legendary Indian batter and captain of India Legend, Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and decided to bat first.

Along with the whole action of the match, the former star Indian all-rounder made it to the headlines of social media for his excellent swing in the opening match of the tournament. Cricket fans took no time in heaping their praises on Pathan for his brilliant swingers in the match against South Africa. He also scalped one wicket against SA legends in the inaugural match.

They took to Twitter for recalling the good old days when Irfan used to trouble the best batting orders in the world with his amazing bowling techniques. Irfan Pathan also came up with a humble and gracious reply, "ye aapka Pyar hai (It's your love)

Speaking of the match, the team got a good start from the opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Naman Ojha. They both stitched a partnership of 46 runs for the first wicket in just 5.2 overs. Other than them, former all-rounder, Stuart Binny smashed a brilliant knock of 82 runs off just 42 balls with five boundaries and six sixes to his name.

Yusuf Pathan also played a blistering knock of 35 runs off just 15 balls with a boundary and four sixes to his name. With the help of these excellent knocks, the Indians posted a big total of 217 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, South Africa Legends could score only 156 runs for the loss of nine wickets in all 20 overs. Former star fielder and captain of SA legends, Jonty Rhodes ended up as the highest run-scorer with 38 runs off 27 balls with five boundaries and a six.

Former spinner Rahul Sharma delivered a shining performance with the bowl with 3 wickets by conceding just 17 runs in four overs. Other than him, former pacer Munaf Patel and spinner Pragyan Ojha scalped two wickets each along with one wicket each by Irfan Pathan and legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Eventually, India won the match by 61 runs. Stuart Binny was awarded player of the match for his match-defining knock.
