Apart from the heroics of the Indian batters, the former Indian skipper and the senior batter Virat Kohli have made it to the headlines. It all happened after his gesture towards the senior wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik when they both were batting together almost at the end of the Indian innings.

The incident happened in the last over of the match when Dinesh Karthik was willing to run a single and let Virat complete his half-century. Notably, the 33-year-old was playing on 49 runs at the moment. But Kohli happened to refuse the proposal from Karthik and asked him to hit the maximums without even caring for his half-century.

Here’s the video of the gesture from Virat Kohli toward Dinesh Karthik:

Talking about the match so far, then the Indian team got a mind-blowing start of 96 runs for the first wicket from the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter KL Rahul. KL Rahul smashed a quick half-century of 59 runs off just 28 balls with five boundaries and four maximums whereas skipper Rohit Sharma also made 43 runs off 37 balls with seven boundaries and a six.

Other than these two, Suryakumar Yadav’s swashbuckling knock of 61 runs off just 22 balls with five boundaries and the same number of sixes became the highlight of the Indian innings. Skipper Virat Kohli also contributed with a very vital knock of 49 runs off 28 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Keshav Maharaj ended up as the only bowler for the Proteas to scalp two wickets.

While chasing the target, the visitors have lost three wickets so far on the score of 47 runs in 6.4 overs. Young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has scalped two wickets alongside one wicket claimed by Axar Patel.
