Other than these accomplishments, the Nagpur-based veteran has also the record of highest individual score to his name. He smashed 264 runs against Sri Lanka eight years back in 2014 which is unbeaten to date.

Although, this long journey was not that much easy turf to go on for Rohit Sharma. Even after making his debut at the early age of 20 for the national side of India 15 years back in the year 2007, Sharma had to struggle for his permanent place till the Champions Trophy of 2013 when his fortune turned completely.

Notably, there are also cricketers who are not even similar in age to that Rohit Sharma, but they have already hung their boots in international cricket. So, here we’ll have a look at such five cricketers who are younger than ‘Hitman’ but no more a part of international cricket.

Sudeep Tyagi impressed the selectors of the Indian national team with his stunning performances in the domestic circuit. Later on, the selectors and the Indian management went on to count on him and picked him in the squad of the men in blue for international cricket. Tyagi made his international debut for the Indian team 13 years back in the year 2009.

But the Ghaziabad-based lad couldn’t perform consistently to cement his spot in the playing XI or even squad of the national side of India. Eventually, Tyagi retired playing just four ODIs and only T20I to his name in his international career. He is five months younger than the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and turned 35 last month only.

The Sylhet-based bowling prodigy had some very fine outings in the domestic circuit in Bangladesh. He made his first international appearance for Bangladesh a decade ago in the year 2012. On his debut, Hasan became the fourth player to score a Test century while batting at number 10. Apart from that, he also became only the second player to do that in his debut match only.

Although, Hasan couldn’t cement his place in the national team in a long run and could play only three Tests, seven ODIs, and five T20Is in his international career. Even though, he didn’t have many impressive numbers in bowling to his name during his international career. He is only 30 years in terms of age right now.

The 34-year-old former bowling all-rounder was recently in action during the recently-concluded Road Safety World Series 2022. Speaking of his potential to be in an international career, then he could’ve been there in the plans of the selectors of the national team of Sri Lanka. But unfortunately, he hasn’t featured in any international match for Sri Lanka for more than a year.

Even after making his international debut 13 years ago in 2009, Isuru Udana could play only 21 ODIs and 35 T20Is for Sri Lanka at the highest level of the game. Looking at his age then, he is almost six months younger than the current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and is just 34 years old right now.

Thisara Perera is undoubtedly one of the veterans who have ever played the game for the Sri Lankan team. He is also known for his famous World Cup winning six in the final against India in Dhaka during the 2014 20-20 World Cup. Although, he couldn’t get the deserved chance to showcase his brilliance to the cricketing world.

He had also led the national side of Sri Lanka and appeared for them in six Tests, 166 ODIs, and 84 T20Is. Other than this, he has also shown his brilliance in the franchise leagues and English country cricket as well. The 33-year-old all-rounder had to announce his early retirement from international cricket due to the unfavorable terms in the contract with Sri Lanka Cricket. Currently, he is playing for the Gujarat Giants in the ongoing  Legends League Cricket.
