After the humiliating defeat against Namibia in their tournament opener, the Sri Lankan team locked horns with the United Arab Emirates in their second match of the tournament. UAE skipper CP Rizwan won the toss and asked the Lankan tigers to bat first at GMHBA Stadium in South Geelong. Although the Sri Lankan team completely outplayed the UAE but there was something else from the match that made it to the headlines of social media.
It was none other than Junaid Siddique who has become the talk of the town despite ending up on the wrong side in the match. Siddiqui happened to smash a mind-blowing six of 109 meters over the top. It came in the 17th over of the UAE innings when Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera was in the attack for bowling.
Chameera came up with the second ball of the over, he bowled a swinging one into the pads of Siddique and the latter took no time in sending the new ball over the roof for a massive 109 meters. Following this six from Siddique, the umpires had to change the ball as the last one couldn’t be accessed.
Notably, it is also the biggest six of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 so far, the video of Siddique’s maximum has gone viral over social media within minutes of being shared from various Twitter handles.
