The seventh match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) witnessed an absolute cracker of a contest. Multan Sultans managed to beat Quetta Gladiators by just six runs. It went down to the final over of the game.

As a matter of fact, the Rizwan-led side became the first team to win a match batting first in this edition of the league. After being asked to bat first, Multan lost their skipper for a duck. However, Tim David and Shan Masood were at their absolute best.

Shan Masood went on to score a brilliant 88 off just 58 deliveries, and struck six boundaries and four sixes. However, not only did Tim David score a quick cameo to put his side in a good position, but he also took an absolute blinder of a catch during the second innings. In fact, it was his catch that sealed the deal for the defending champions.

While chasing 174, The Gladiators needed eight runs to win from the last over. David Willey was given the responsibility to ball the final over. The Sarfraz led-side managed to score just one run in the first four balls.

As they needed seven off the final two deliveries, Naseem Shah managed to hit the fifth ball a long way, and it seemed like the ball was going for a six. However, Tim David kept his calm to hold on to an absolute stunner. He plucked the ball out of the air, inches close to the cushions.

"I think it was a good catch in the end. Pace off was really important today. Calm head helps and just doing the basics right there in the end. I am trying to change pace and I knew the delivery that was gonna work on this surface. We are the first team to win batting first and close games like these sets you up for the rest of the competition," said David Willey after the completion of the match. It is to be noted that David lost his balance while taking the catch, but still managed to remain within the line, and held on to the ball.
