As the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has begun, the third day game of the tournament shall see Multan Sultans taking on Lahore Qalandars. After a clinical victory against the Karachi Kings on Thursday, the defending champions would want to continue their dominant performance and win their second game as well. The fact that they were able to beat the 2020-champions without breaking a sweat showed how strong as a unit they truly are. It was the veteran Imran Tahir who took three wickets, which restricted the Kings to just 124. After which, their captain Mohammad Rizwan scored an unbeaten 52 off 47 deliveries, which saw Multan Sultans cross the line rather comfortably.
On the other hand, the Qalandars have a lot of hopes riding on them this time around as their side looks superb on paper. While their top-order boasts of some powerful hitters like Fakhar Zaman, their middle-order consists of the likes of Ben Dunk and David Wiese, who are proven performers for Lahore. A lot will depend on their new skipper Shaheen Afridi, who will also lead the pace attack. Besides, this is the ideal opportunity for the pacer to display his captaincy skills.
Like the first match of the tournament, spinners are expected to get assistance over here. However, the batters can manage if they play carefully. Last but not the least, both the teams would want to win the toss and bowl first.
