Virat Kohli is one of those few players to have played for only one franchise in the Indian T20 league. After making his debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008, he has been playing for them for the past fourteen seasons. Moreover, he led the franchise for nine seasons as well.

However, he had announced last year that he wasn't going to lead the Bangalore-based franchise from the 2022 edition, but will continue to play for them and thus, proved his loyalty to the franchise. Kohli recently drew light on his journey with RCB.

In a YouTube series ‘RCB Podcast, the 33-year-old spoke about the moment that changed the franchise forever. He spoke about how the addition of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in 2011 was the moment that changed everything for him. Kohli mentioned how threatening it was for the bowlers if those two batters were at the crease for a while.

“'For me, the game changed when AB was bought in 2011 and Chris was signed mid-season 2011. You know what the bowlers think when they are running in to bowl, that (out of) these three guys, if two bat together for a while, it's trouble for us,” said Virat Kohli.

The Delhi batter, alongside Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj, were retained ahead of the upcoming edition's mega auction. However, with Kohli not leading RCB anymore, it will be exciting to see who leads the team now. In the meanwhile, the batting maestro also spoke about the hard work he puts on.

“Every day you have to put on the work. And being true to yourself is the work. No fame, money or success in life can get rid of that,” he said. Thus, Kohli will want to perform in the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league, and ensure that RCB wins their maiden title.
