Pakistan, as one could understand, are going through a rough phase in cricket as they lost most of the matches played at home last year and the ODI series against New Zealand in 2023 as well. To add more, after losing to England in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 finals, the team lost to the Three Lions 0-3 in the Test series post the multinational tournament and drew the Tests against Tim Southee and his men.

Much to the surprise of the Pakistani fans, despite winning the first ODI, Pakistan lost to New Zealand in the ODI series which caused a huge shockwave across the country. Amid all the chaos, veteran Pakistani cricketer Khurram Manzoor, who last played his international game in 2016, claimed that he has a better conversion rate than Indian superstar Virat Kohli, which makes him the Number 1 batter at present. 

Further, Manzoor expressed his displeasure for getting ignored despite having impressive stats in List A format which makes him the better batter than the Indian star, according to him. Taking cognizance of the same, the fans took to Twitter for making a blatant statement comparing himself with Kohli.

Manzoor went on to say during an interaction with Nadir Ali on YouTube that he keeps getting ignored despite having strong stats that should fetch him a place in the national squad. With 74 international centuries to his name, Indian superstar Kohli remains undefeatable across all formats, despite not being at his best in Tests. 

“I am not comparing myself with Virat Kohli. Fact is, in 50-overs cricket, whoever are there in the top-10, I am the world no.1. After me stands Kohli. My conversion rate in List A cricket is better than him. He scores a century every six innings. I score century every 5.68 innings. And based on my average of 53, over the last 10 years, I am ranked fifth in the world in List A cricket,” Manzoor was quoted as saying to Nadir Ali on YouTube. 

“I also have scored 24 centuries in the last 48 innings. Between 2015 and now, whoever has opened for Pakistan, I still remain the leading scorer among them. I am also the top scorer and century getter in national T20. Yet I get ignored. And nobody has ever given me a solid reason for that,” he added.
