The company consisting of English cricket fans have their own social media account, where they are seen having friendly banters with fans of other teams. They recently took to Twitter to share a video of a person playing an outrageous shot. In the video, the batter makes the connection with the ball after the ball had gone past him.

He almost allows the ball to go past him, only to dig it away into the on side after it had pitched seemingly on a much-straighter line. Moreover, the batter did it with just his left hand, and connected it very well. The Barmy Army even tagged The Root Academy when posting this video.

"WHAT IS THIS 🤯

📹 @TheRootAcademy," read The Barmy Army's caption. However, the fans of Indian cricket were quick to react, and hilariously trolled the company of England fans. They predicted Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant's next shot against James Anderson.

A few fans went on to reply to the Tweet by saying that the Indian keeper-batter would play the same shot against the veteran English pacer whenever they play against each other next. Thus, the video instantly became viral. Pant is known to play outrageous shots. He once reverse scooped James Anderson in a Test match.

Meanwhile, Pant has been in superb form of late. After scoring a sensational hundred in the third Test against South Africa, he scored a brilliant 85 off just 71 deliveries in the second ODI against the Bavuma-led side. The fact that he played this knock when his side had lost two quick wickets, makes it even better. However, his efforts went in vain as the Proteas ended up winning the game by seven wickets.
