The Indian T20 League is unarguably the richest and most competitive cricket league in the world. From the very beginning, The Indian T20 League has been an amalgam of sports and glamour.
The owners of the franchises in the league have been some of the richest business groups in the country. With some of the richest businessmen coming on board for the mega sports event, the Indian T20 League has its share of glamour, be it in the form of the cheerleaders or the gorgeous and beautiful women owning the team.
1. Kaviya Maran
Kaviya Maran is quite often seen in the stands cheering the Hyderabad team and also on the franchise table in the auctions. During her initial appearances, Maran was often referred to as the “Mystery Girl”.
Maran, born on 6th August 1992 is the daughter of Kalinthi Maran, the founder and director of the Sun group. Maran has completed her B. Com graduation from Stella Maris College, Chennai, and her MBA from Leonard N Stern School, New York University.
2. Preity Zinta
Preity Zinta has been a very famous and common name for Bollywood fans during the last decade of the twentieth century. She made her first appearance at the Sharukh Khan starrer “Dil Se” and since then took over the heart of the fans with her charms.
Preity Zinta was seen taking a stake in the Punjab franchise in the inaugural Indian T20 League. Since then, she has followed her team, cheering them passionately.
3. Nita Ambani
Nita Ambani, the wife of the Indian Billionaire and owner of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani has often graced the Indian T20 League matches with her presence.
Nita Ambani is often seen cheering the Mumbai team in Indian T20 League with great passion and enthusiasm. Recently, she was seen at the auction table for the Mumbai team, playing an important role in picking players for the squad along with her son.
The passionate involvement that she shows towards her team is evidence of the fact that she is not only an owner of the team but an earnest fan of the game.
4. Juhi Chawla
The miss India title-winner of 1984, Juhi Chawla immediately made her place in the heart of the Bollywood fans with her cute looks and charms. She later got married to Jay Mehta, who owns a part of the Red Chillies company, the current owners of the Kolkata Franchise in the Indian T20 League. Hence, Juhi has been seen donning the purple jersey in the stands excitedly supporting the Kolkata team.
5. Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty is often recognized as the fitness icon of Bollywood. She made her debut in Bollywood with “Baazigar” and since then has been famous for her dance moves and fitness, more than her acting.
Shilpa was the co-owner of the Rajasthan franchise, before giving up the stakes after the team received a suspension. During her involvement with the franchise, she was quite frequent with her presence in the stands.
