In what comes as shocking news, Hyderabad's assistant coach Simon Katich has stepped down from his position. The fact that this comes just a few days after the auction is surprising, to say the least. Besides, he quit barely a few months before the commencement of the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league.

According to a report by The Australian, Katich decided to leave after a disagreement, with respect to how the team was being managed. Apparently, he also felt that the pre-auction strategies weren't followed during the mega-event. It is to be noted that the orange army were involved in a controversy during the 2021 edition.

They decided to sack David Warner as the captain, and replaced him with Kane Williamson. This led to a lot of backlash, and several people went on to criticize the manner in which they treated their legend. Post which, Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin stepped down from their positions as well.

Thus, they were then replaced by Tom Moody and Katich. However, with the 46-year-old's departure, it will be interesting to see who is named the new assistant coach of Hyderabad. In the meanwhile, the 2016-champions were really busy during the mega auction.
