After seeing several teams being adamant on a few players in the first round, the second had some big surprises for the fans. Manish Pandey was sold to Lucknow for INR 4.6 crore, and will be seen playing alongside his Karanataka teammate KL Rahul. In the meanwhile, Robin Uthappa returned to Chennai as the defending champions got him at his base price.

The English opener Jason Roy was also sold for his base price to Gujarat. Taking his recent form into account, getting the swashbuckling opener for INR 2 crore was an absolute steal. However, several teams got into a bidding war for Devdutt Paddikal.

At a base price of INR 2 crore, Bangalore, Chennai, Rajasthan, Mumbai engaged in a non-stop battle to acquire his services. In the end, it was Rajasthan who managed to buy him for INR 7.75 crore. It was the man in form Jason Holder, who was the blue-eyed boy, and it was Lucknow who purchased him for INR 8.75 crore.

However, he wasn't only the all-rounder who was in demand as it was Harshal Patel who turned out to be the costliest player of this round. The Bangalore-based franchise managed to get their MVP back for INR 10.75 crore. Meanwhile, Bravo went back to Chennai for INR 4.4 crore.

Nitish Rana was among the few top-order Indian batters to return to his previous franchise. The two-time champions purchased him for INR 8 crore. Last but not the least, Lucknow spent INR 5.75 crore to get Deepak Hooda.

Meanwhile, the likes of Steve Smith, David Miller and Shakib Al Hasan could not find a buyer, the biggest surprise was  Suresh Raina, who too went unsold.
