Former Indian skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli is enjoying a purple patch with the bat in ODI cricket as he has smashed three centuries in the format within the course of the last month. The 34-year-old has also completed 46 ODI centuries and is now only four centuries away from breaking the record highest ODI centuries by former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar.

The 35-year-old will be in action with the Indian team in the upcoming second of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Both teams will play this match on Saturday, the 21st of January at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

Meanwhile, just ahead of the match, the fan following and immense love among the fans for Virat Kohli has made it to the headlines. The fans are celebrating the arrival of Kohli in Raipur with huge posters on the street walls in the city.

Notably, Virat Kohli finished the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka as the highest run-scorer in the series. He scored 283 runs in three innings with an outstanding average of 141.50 including two massive centuries to his name. The veteran Delhi batter also won two ‘player of the match awards in the first and third ODI of the series respectively.

Notably, Virat will not be a part of the upcoming three-match T20I series against New Zealand which is scheduled to be played after the conclusion of the ongoing three-match ODI series.
