Five Indian cricketers who married a woman older than their age

The laity, especially in India is quite a bit conservative with a thought for men to marry a woman older in age than them. Meanwhile, there are the individuals from the field of cricket who have broken all the bars of society and gone on to marry a woman more than them in terms of age.

There are many Indian cricketers who did this. The list includes various renowned stars who have contributed a lot to the Indian team. So, without further ado, here we’ll have a look at five Indian cricketers who fell in love with a lady older than them and later on, happened to marry them.

1. Sachin Tendulkar – Married Anjali Tendulkar

It was the year 1996 when Sachin was only 22 years of age, and it was also the year when he tied the knot with Anjali who is six years more in age than India’s god of cricket. At the time of her wedding with Sachin, Anjali was 28 years of age. They both tied the knot on the 24^th of May in 1995 after dating for five years.

“It was ‘love at first sight for me. I saw Anjali at the airport, who was waiting for her parents, while I was returning home after India’s tour of England in 1990,” wrote Sachin in his autobiography ‘playing it my way’.

They both have now son Arjun Tendulkar and a daughter Sara Tendulkar after spending 27 years of their married life.

2. Hardik Pandya – Married Natasa Stankovic

The star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya stunned everyone when he married the Serbian model and dancer Natasa Stankovic who is one year and seven months older than him. Reportedly, they both met each other at a nightclub and that was the moment that brought them together.

The 28-year-old proposed to Natasa in Dubai back in the year 2020 and eventually, they tied the knot on the 31^st of May in the same year. Currently, they both have a son Agastya with having two and a half years of married life together.

3. Jasprit Bumrah – Married Sanjana Ganesan

Ace Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah is not a part of the Indian squad in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury that he sustained a few months back. Notably, Bumrah is married to the famous sports presenter of Star Sports, Sanjana Ganesan.

Surprisingly, Bumrah is two years and seven months younger than her wife in terms of age.

“I had obviously seen her a lot of times, but we had the same problem with each other. She thought I was really arrogant, I thought she was really arrogant, so we never really spoke,” said Bumrah to Dinesh Karthik during an interview on Sky Sports

Later, they happened to talk with each other during the ODI World Cup of 2019 held in England which later developed into feelings for each other. Eventually, they tied the knot with each other more than a year back.

4. Virat Kohli – Married Anushka Sharma

Former Indian skipper and contemporary batting legend Virat Kohli has let the cricketing World on its knees recently for his historic knock against the arch-rivals Pakistan in their tournament opener of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Speaking of his love story, Virat has quite a bit different in comparison to the other Indian cricketers.

He met Bollywood actress nine years back in 2013 during a commercial shoot for a shampoo brand. Since then their bonding started growing up and they ended up marrying each other on the 17^th of December in 2017.

Currently, they have a cute daughter Vamika having almost five successful years of married life.

5. Shikhar Dhawan – Aesha Mukherji

Star Indian southpaw and senior batter Shikhar Dhawan was married to Aesha Mukherji. Dhawan was 10 years younger than his wife. Just after his marriage with Aesha, Shikhar had to face a backlash in his own family who were not in favor of this relationship because Aesha was already a divorcee and she had two kids from her first marriage.

Dhawan and Aesha were together for eight years but later, they decided to part ways last year in the month of September. They both have a son Zoravar from their eight-year-long marriage.
