India Capitals and Manipal Tigers locked horns in the 10th match of the Legends League Cricket. Capitals’ skipper and former veteran Indian opener Gautam Gambhir won the toss and asked Manipal Tigers to bat first at the turf of Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Batting first, the Tigers posted a decent total of 161 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, the Capitals managed to cross the line in the 18th over and won the match by three wickets. Ardent cricket fans were overwhelmed with the performance of former veterans of the game for India capitals. They took no time in heaping their praises on Gautam Gambhir’s men for an emphatic win in the 10th match of the tournament.

Talking furthermore about the match, then the duo of former Indian batter Mohammad Kaif and Kiwi veteran Jesse Ryder stitched a massive partnership of 126 runs for the second wicket. Ryder scored 79 runs off 56 balls with five boundaries and the same number of sixes. On the other hand, Kaif also played a vital knock of 67 runs off 48 balls with nine boundaries and a six to his name.
On the backs of these two knocks, the Tigers somehow managed to score 161 runs for the loss of five batters in the first half of the game. Other than Kaif and Ryder, none of the Capitals’ batter could touch the double-digit individually. Liam Plunkett and Rajat Bhatia scalped two wickets each for Capitals alongside one wicket taken by the Aussie great Mitchell Johnson.
While chasing the target, the Capitals’ batting was completely revolving around the former Zimbabwean great Hamilton Masakadza. He smashed 68 runs off 39 with seven boundaries and four sixes to his name.
His knock helped the Capitals to reach the target in 17.2 over for the loss of three wickets and win the match by seven wickets. Masakadza won the ‘player of the match award for his match-defining knock.
