2: ‘Have A Drink on Me’ after winning against England

Indian side crushed the visitors England in the four-match Test series last year in 2021. After India’s victory, the then head coach Shastri made his presence in front of the camera for online interaction. In that very interaction, he went on to address the multiple social media posts where fans made fun of him for his love for alcoholic drinks. Reply from the former veteran all-rounder came with an interesting reply on all those posts by saying:

"Have a drink on my name. When you post those kinds of things (alcohol-related memes), so many people have a laugh," he said. "Enjoy, it doesn't affect me.”

3: Challenging talk Miandad to win the Audi

Ravi Shastri is known for his famous all-round performance 27 years ago in the year 1985 when he earned the title of ‘The champion of champions. It is still one of the best achievements of the 60-year-old when he won the Audi 100 as a trophy. But there is an interesting and memorable anecdote behind this achievement of Shastri which still gives him goosebumps.

Once in an interview during the launch of the Audi A6, Shastri recalled his conversation with former legendary Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad. While recalling the story, Shastri says that “it was the trophy which I won after beating Miandad”. Actually, Miandad told Shastri to not look or think about that as he was not going to win it, according to Miandad.

But in his reply, he asked Miandad to ‘take a walk’, and later on, he stunned everyone with his amazing performance throughout the entire series. The world cup winner Indian all-rounder ended up the series as ‘Player of the Series by scoring 182 runs and scalping eight wickets and won the Audi after beating the legendary cricketer, Javed Miandad.

4: Stole the show with his unique way of expressing nervousness

The former Indian head coach left the whole cricketing fraternity with his reply to the broadcasters.
