On 4 September 2023, India will take on Nepal in Pallekele as it will be the last Group A clash in the ongoing Asia Cup. Nepal lost their first game against Pakistan while India’s clash with Pakistan got called off due to rain. So, both teams will look for a win to seal their berth in the ‘Super 4’ stage. However, as per recent reports, this upcoming clash can be rain affected but still, there are some players who can come up with some top performances for their respective teams.

This star all-rounder played a mature innings when Team India were in all sorts of trouble. After losing four wickets for just 66 runs, Rohit Sharma and his men were looking to get bundled out for a very low total against Pakistan. 

But, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan put up a 138-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Pandya scored 87 runs off 90 balls, including seven fours and one six. So, it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to show consistency against Nepal or not.

Nepal were handed a thrashing 238-run loss against Pakistan in the tournament opener. But, Sompal Kami was the only brightening star due to his all-round contribution. In that clash, the Men in Green scored 342 runs but Kami took two wickets by conceding 85 runs in 10 overs.

During that mammoth chase, Nepal lost three wickets for 14 runs. Then, Kami and Aarif Sheikh stitched a 59-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Kami scored 28 runs off 46 balls, including four fours. Hence, he will look to do well against India also.

KL Rahul was unavailable for the Pakistan clash. Hence, Ishan Kishan got the opportunity to play as the wicketkeeper. However, he grabbed the opportunity with both hands as Ishan scored 82 runs off 81 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. 

Initially, he managed to hold his nerves when Pakistan pacers were on fire. Then, as the innings progressed, the star batter came up with his big shots gradually. So, seeing such a top-quality knock from him under such a pressure situation, fans were left crazy and will hope to see more from him in this upcoming clash.

Pakistan set a mammoth 343-run target for Nepal. But, Karan KC still managed to concede runs at just six runs per over as he took one wicket for 54 runs in nine overs. At the start of the innings, Pakistan's batters failed to score freely due to Karan’s economical spell.

With the bat, he looked comfortable also as Karan remained not out on seven runs off six balls. Hence, Nepal will hope for another good performance from him against the Men in Blue in Paallekle, Sri Lanka.   

Jasprit Bumrah

This star pacer can be a player to watch out for in this upcoming clash. Bumrah recently made a comeback in International cricket during the Ireland T20I series. However, he looked in good rhythm in two matches.

But, in the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan, India's bowlers did not get any opportunity as the match got called off due to rain. But, with the bat, he came up with some important blows at the end as Bumrah scored 16 runs off 14 balls, including three fours. So, he will be eager to perform again, especially this time with the ball against Nepal.
