Asia Cup 2023: India's Probable Playing XI for their Encounter Against Nepal

Team India failed to begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a win as their match against Pakistan was called off due to heavy rain after one inning. So, both of them were awarded one point each and now, they will take on Nepal in their second group encounter on 4 September in Pallekele, Kandy. However, as per recent reports, rain threats are looming over the future of that clash. But, whether Rohit Sharma and his men will make any changes to their playing XI, will be interesting to see for fans.

Top Order

India’s top order will be the same consisting of skipper Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. All these batters had a miserable outing against Pakistan and looked rusty against Pakistan’s quality pacers. But, in this upcoming clash, they will look for some runs to get under their belts going forward.

Middle Order and WicketKeeper

Shreyas Iyer looked solid and confident enough during his short stay against the Men in Green. But, again, he fell into the short ball trap and despite hitting a solid pull shot, found the fielder. But, Ishan Kishan played a gem of a knock. As KL Rahul was not available, he played as a wicketkeeper and came up with an 82-run inning from just 81 balls.

Hardik Pandya was another star from the Pakistan clash as he smashed 87 runs off 90 balls. He put up a 138-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Ishan. Ravindra Jadeja failed with the bat and India’s gamble of playing Shardul Thakur over Mohammed Shami, just for his batting abilities, did not go as per the plan. So, eyes will be on them whether Shami gets a chance or not. However, no bowlers got any chance to show their skills as the match got called off after India’s batting.
