Skipper and senior opener Rohit Sharma have only one half-century to his name and that too against the minnows like the Netherlands. He is struggling with a run of poor strings in the tournament with individual scores of only 4, 15, and 2.

Skipper’s poor form is also a concern for the Indian team as it might result in a setback for the men in blue during the knock-out round.

The 32-year-old was on the receiving end of harsh criticism from the Indian cricket fans for his poor knocks in the first three matches when he went to the pavilion only on the respective scores of 4,9, and 9. Although KL has recently made a good comeback with the bat in the 35th match of the tournament against Bangladesh.

The Karnataka batter scored 50 runs off 32 balls with three boundaries and four sixes to his name. Apart from this, his throw to run out Litton Das also played a crucial role in India’s win against Shakib Al Hasan’s men.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel was supposed to fit in the shoes of the injured senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. But the southpaw couldn’t fulfill the hopes and expectations of the Indian team in the tournament so far both with the bat and ball. He has scored only 9 runs in the tournament and could scalp only two wickets with the ball.

One of the finest all-rounders ever played for India in the longest format of the game, Ravichandran Ashwin was given a chance in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The 36-year-old senior all-rounder was picked to deliver in the role of an off-spinner in the tournament for India.

Other than the last-ball four against Pakistan, there is nothing remarkable to his name in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Ashwin has scalped only three wickets while playing appearing in all four matches for India in the tournament.

The 37-year-old amazed and impressed everyone with his stellar performances during the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. He got a call to the national squad of the Indian team and subsequently, the senior wicketkeeper made a cut to the squad of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Karthik has failed to continue with the same touch he had in the Indian T20 League. The veteran Chennai batter has scored only 14 runs after batting in three matches with four catches behind the wickets.
