Recently, social media was filled up with multiple reactions from Indian cricket fans. They went on to express their angst over the Indian selectors for not picking the star wicketkeeper-batter from South, Sanju Samson in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Sanju Samson has shown his ability to bat at any number in the order, despite that, the selectors preferred to pick out-of-form wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant over Samson. The 27-year-old played a very crucial role for team India in the bilateral white0ball clashes against West Indies and Zimbabwe respectively.

The Kerala-born pacer made his first appearance in international cricket for an only T20I last year against Sri Lanka. Although, he stunned everyone with his stellar performances in domestic cricket as he scalped 190 wickets in 60 First-class matches. Apart from that, he also picked 73 wickets.

Although, he couldn’t capitalize on his performances to make a cut to the squad of the Indian team. If he could have got a chance in the Indian cricket team for his stellar performances if he could’ve been there in another era of Indian cricket.

The Ranchi-born top-order batter is constantly performing in domestic cricket. He has scored 2656 runs in 83 innings of 49 Tests with an average of 34.05 having seven centuries and 14 half-centuries to his name. Apart from this, he has also scored 1258 runs in 45 List-A matches with an average of 30.68 in a century and eight half-centuries.

Tripathi has also been a consistent performer in the Indian T20 League. But, despite his continuous stellar outings, selectors couldn’t find Rahul’s performances worth the selection in the national squad of Indian team.

Sheldon Jackson

The birthday guy Sheldon Jackson has turned 36 today without having a single international match to his name for the Indian team. The Saurashtra-born cricketer hasn’t got enough chances in the Indian T20 League as well. He has played only nine matches in the league so far.

Speaking of his performances in domestic cricket, then he has scored 5947 runs in 133 innings of 79 First-class matches with an average of 50.39 having 19 centuries and 31 half-centuries on his credit. But even after these outings in the domestic circuit, his cricketing career went in vain as he never got a chance to feature for the national squad of the Indian cricket team.
