3 Indians who might have to wait a bit longer to appear in T20Is

Be it former cricketers, experts, or fans of the game, most of the individuals in the cricketing fraternity are naming India as one of the giants in T20I cricket. Having a bigger pool of talented players in both internationally active players and domestic players, the men in blue have a knack to field two International teams at a time to compete in two different assignments.

Meanwhile, there’ve been also a bunch of talented players who unfortunately missed making it to the playing XI of Team India. Although these players have produced some brilliant performances in the various opportunities provided to them.

With said that, here we’ll have a look at the three players who might have to wait a bit longer to make their appearance in the T20Is.

The young Mumbai batter recently got a call-up to the squad of India after a long wait in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand. But he couldn’t get a chance to feature in the playing XI in the entire T20I series. The management and skipper Hardik Pandya opted to go with the opening pair of Shubman Gill.

But looking at the current pool of the Indian team, it is looking very hard for Prithvi to break the wall to appear in the playing XI. So, the 23-year-old could be benched for a bit more time in the near future before making a cut to the final XI of the Indian team.

Jitesh Sharma

Speaking of the concern of wicketkeeper-batters for India in the shortest format of the game. It is also because of the unavailability of Rishabh Pant due to the injury that he sustained in a horrific accident. KL Rahul is currently struggling with a poor run of form with the bat and so is young Jharkhand batter Ishan Kishan.

Jitesh Sharma from the domestic circuit is one of the growing names in T20 cricket. He proved his worth in the Indian T20 League and T20 cricket. But currently, Jitesh is not fitting in the current setup of the national team of India so he could still have to wait to make his first international appearance in the Indian colors.

Shivam Mavi

The young Noida pacer has made six T20I appearances for India so far and scalped seven wickets to his name. Earlier, he had also proved his worth in junior cricket when he used to be the teammate of star Indian batting sensation Shubman Gill.

But looking at the current structure of the Indian bowling attack including the likes of Umran Malik and Mohammed Siraj, it might be very hard for Shivam Mavi to make it to the playing XI of the men in blue in the near future.
