WWE superstar Randy Orton likely to take retirement due to his major back injury

Randy Orton underwent a back surgery after being ruled out and hasn't made a televised appearance in a year.

WWE superstar and professional wrestler Randal Keith Ortan who is popularly known as Randy Orton has been out of action since May 2022. He was last in the ring at WrestleMania 38 in a Tag team match against the Usos where he lost while teaming up with Matt Riddle and since then he never made a comeback due to a major back injury.

Orton had to go through surgery and is still recovering from it, however, Orton was already suffering from a back injury during the tag team match in Wrestlemania 38 but he still fought which shows his sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Orton’s dad and WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton talked about his son and said that Randy doesn’t feel like going back to WWE as he is still recovering.

“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens. I don’t know if he feels like going back or if he feels like he’s ready to go back. I think he might. Then again, he’s pretty well taken care of, I don’t think he needs to and I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy is gonna do," Bob was quoted as saying by Times Now.

Will Orton head towards AEW?

WWE fans are eagerly waiting to see Randy back in action as he is one the oldest wrestlers in the company he made his debut in 2022 have produced many breathtaking fights in WWE. The 14-time World Champion may be able to make his in-ring comeback, but there has been no update from the WWE as of yet. 

There are numerous instances of wrestlers being forced into early retirement because their physicians at WWE didn't give them the all-clear. Edge and Daniel Bryan were affected in the past, but both have made a comeback in the sport. Edge and Daniel Bryan have both participated in a WrestleMania main event after their initial retirements. Therefore, there is some chance that even if Orton has taken a long break, he might eventually make a comeback.
