According to information released by the company on Wednesday, the 2023 installment of the WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view has surpassed all previous arena events in terms of revenue. The "Friday Night SmackDown" show that came before the pay-per-view on July 1 also holds the record for the most money earned by a "SmackDown" episode. According to WWE, both events were held at London's renowned O2 Arena and brought in a combined total of more than $5.4 million.

In addition to breaking several other milestones, Money in the Bank 2023 saw a nine percent increase in sponsorship income over the previous record set in 2022. Viewership increased by 17% above last year's record, while the event brought in the biggest venue retail sales revenue in WWE history. Additionally, it broke records for On Location fan experience packages, making it the most profitable non-WrestleMania event in WWE business history.

The Bloodline Civil War battle featuring Roman Reigns was the headline event

The Bloodline Civil War battle, which pitted Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion, against Jimmy and Jey Uso, their cousins and previous friends, was the main event of this year's Money in the Bank. Reigns was significantly pinned by Jey during the encounter, which marked the first time since December 2019 that he has been so. In the first 48 hours after being available, social media videos of the match received 40 million views collectively.

On the other side of the card, the WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches for men and women were won by Damian Priest and Iyo Sky, respectively. While Gunther defeated Matt Ridle through submission to retain the Intercontinental championship, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler for the women's tag team championship belts. John Cena unexpectedly showed up at the pay-per-view as well, energising the audience by joking about a WrestleMania in London. When Grayson Waller interrupted John Cena, he promptly delivered his infamous Attitude Adjustment finish.
