On Friday Night SmackDown, Lacey Evans made her comeback to WWE TV in a segment involving a number of the roster's female performers. Evans predicted that she would compete in and win the Women's Money In The Bank tournament on July 1 in London. This week, she changed her gimmick again by approaching the ring while wearing camouflage clothing and a drill instructor cover for the Marine Corps. Her appearance is also thought to have been influenced by Sgt. Slaughter, a WWE Hall of Famer.

Since March, Evans hasn't competed on television until tonight's bout. On the episode of March 24 that saw Evans and Shotzi defeating Evans and Xia Li, she also lost some dark matches in April and May. Zelina Vega defeated her tonight in a Money In The Bank qualifying bout. After landing the Code Red finisher, Vega easily prevailed in the fight. The recent episode remained eventful with Asuka getting charged with a warning for brawl with fellow wrestler and a verbal bout in Japanese.

This was Lacey Evans’s first TV appearance since March 2023

According to rumours, WWE has no creative ideas for Lacey Evans. Evans was selected for SmackDown in the 2023 WWE Draught, but this does not necessarily imply that the company has decided how to use her, according to a recent Ringside News article. WWE simply has a lot of other issues on the blue brand that they need to solve first, it was noted.

Evans hasn't appeared on a WWE TV programme since she and Xia Li lost to Natalya and Shotzi on the March 24 SmackDown, more than a month after defeating Carmen Harress in the squash singles match on the February 10 SmackDown. Prior to that, she took part in the Women's Royal Rumble and defeated Jazmin Allure on SmackDown on January 27. Evans has performed four SmackDown dark matches since her previous TV appearance on March 24. She lost against Tegan Nox on March 31, Shotzi on April 14 and April 28, and Mia Yim on May 19.
