WPL 2024 MI Final Squads: List of Mumbai Indians squads after the mini-auction

Defending champions Mumbai Indians actively participated in the 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. The defending champions entered the auction with a purse value of Rs 2.1 crore and can add a maximum of 5 slots. They have already built a strong squad in the inaugural season and have now made some smart signings to further strengthen the roster.

MI started with a bidding war with Delhi Capitals (DC) for Australia's Annabel Sutherland. They tried their best to acquire the services of the star all-rounder but gave up when the price tag reached Rs 2 crore. Eventually, she was sold to DC for a whopping sum - the joint most expensive player in the 2024 auction.

One of MI's best picks was South African pacer Shabnim Ismail. They came with the intention of fixing the issues they had with the pace department in the previous edition, and they did it as by acquiring one of the best in the business. She holds the record for most wickets in ODIs and T20Is in South Africa with 191 and 123 wickets respectively. Ismail bagged a signing of INR 1.2 crore. 

S Sajana for ₹15 lakh, Fatima Jaffer for ₹10 lakh and Amandeep Kaur for ₹10 lakh were also smart picks for the franchise. The reliance-owned franchise filled all their five spots before the final round of the auction. Keerthana Balakrishnan (₹10 lakh) was their last acquisition to complete the 18-member squad.
