Team India are up against Bangladesh in their fourth match of the 2023 ODI World Cup on Thursday, October 19. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The Tigers will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto as Shakib Al Hasan is ruled out due to injury. The veteran all-rounder was replaced by Nasum Ahmed while Hasan Mahmud replaced Taskin Ahmed.
On the other hand, the home team have gone with the same team that defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in their last match in Ahmedabad. Speaking at the toss, captain Rohit Sharma said he would have opted to bowl first as India had won all three matches while chasing.
"I would have bowled first. It's working at this point of time, don't see any reason to change it. That's important in this WC, keeping everybody in good space. The boys are in good shape, good mental space as well and enjoying the cricket. So far so good, we want to continue this momentum, Same team," the star opener said.
Meanwhile, ahead of the match, a massive crowd outside the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium was seen roaring for skipper Rohit. In a picture that went viral on social media, two fans were seen holding posters showing their madness for the Hitman. "I will not date until Rohit lifts World Cup," reads one poster. "Cricket is my religion. Rohit is My God," another poster wrote.
Another picture of fans holding Rohit's huge cut-out is also widely circulating on social media.
