The most-awaited player retention day for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 is here. All 10 franchises will announce their final squads before going into the player auction on December 19 in Dubai. As the day approaches, a lot of speculation is circulating on social media.

For television viewers, Star Sports will host a two-hour-long retention programme from 4 PM IST to 6 PM IST. Meanwhile, Jio Cinema will also host a show with a panel of experts from 4 PM IST to 6 PM IST. The tournament will be broadcast on both platforms subsequently.
Meanwhile, players auctions will take place on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. This will be the first instance since its inception in 2008 that the player's auction will take place outside the country. It's worth noting that this year teams will get an extra five crore to have a salary cap of INR 100 crore.
