The inevitable has happened, the Indian team have registered a thumping win against England by 434 runs in the third Test match at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. With this win the Indian team have taken a 2-1 lead in the series. This is also the biggest win by runs margin for the Indian team in the Test matches. The heroes for the Indian team in this Test victory were Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, and Shubman Gill with their impactful performances throughout the Test match. Ravindra Jadeja was adjourned as player of the match for his all-round performance.

Earlier in the Test, it was Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who won the toss and elected to bat first. After struggling at 33/3 in the first hour of the first session, the duo of Ravindra Jadeja (112) runs as well as Rohit Sharma (131) stitched together a brilliant partnership of 204 runs. Following the solid partnership as well as fighting innings from debutants Sarfaraz Khan (62) and Dhruv Jurel (46) runs, India posted a brilliant total of 445 runs in their first innings.

In reply to India’s first innings, the England team were going strong at 224/2 at one stage but faced a batting collapse as they got bundled out for 319 runs in their first innings. Apart from Ben Duckett's (153) runs, none of the English batters got going with bat in hand. The show for India was Mohammad Siraj who bowled his heart out and registered his career-best bowling figure of 4/84 to give India a lead of 126 runs.

In India’s second innings, the Indian batters had a cautious start to their innings but skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed against the run of play. But then it was India’s young guns, Yashasvi Jaiswal's (214) runs and Shubman Gill's (91) runs bailed India out of the trouble with a splendid 155 runs partnership. Later on in the innings, Sarfaraz Khan (68) runs as well as Jaiswal’s late striking ability took India well ahead in the game as they posted a 556 runs total on the total.

In reply to the mammoth total, England succumbed under pressure and were bowled out 122 runs. Ben Duckett fell victim to a run-out for just 4 runs, courtesy of Dhruv Jurel's sharp work. Opening partner Zak Crawley was adjudged lbw to Jasprit Bumrah. Ravindra Jadeja then struck twice, dismissing Ollie Pope caught by Rohit Sharma for 3, followed by Bairstow, trapped LBW for 4, leaving England struggling at 28/4.

Joe Root and Ben Stokes managed to add 22 runs for the fifth wicket before Root was dismissed LBW by Jadeja. Kuldeep Yadav joined the party, claiming the crucial wicket of Ben Stokes for 15. With the English batters looking bereft of ideas, wickets continued to tumble. Mark Wood provided some resistance, top-scoring with 33 runs before falling to Jadeja, who secured his fifth wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal took a fine catch as India sealed victory. The series now moves to Ranchi, where England will aim to bounce back from this heavy defeat.
