Notably, this defeat has pushed Blaugrana to third place in the points table of Group C having a difference of six points from table toppers Bayern Munich. Two calls from the referee of the handball didn’t go in favor of Barcelona which eventually went on to cost them the match.

They got an equalizer in the last half of the match but it was ruled out later following a pitch review by Slavko Vincic that ended up as a ‘handball’ by Ansu Fati.

The second moment was when the LaLiga giants were denied a penalty in the last minutes of the game. It happened when match officials made a decision against Barcelona’s claim that Denzel Dumfries had touched the ball with his hand. The controversy also heated because the ball touched Denzel in the same fashion it touched Ansu Fati earlier in the match.

Xavi seemed to be extremely unhappy about this unpleasant incident, he went on express his angst and disappointment with the referees.

Here's what Xavi Hernandez said:

"If you ask me that I’m outraged... the word is an outrage because it makes no sense, it’s an injustice. I think it’s an injustice, I just can’t hide it," said Xavi in the post-match press conference.

"I think the referee should explain himself. He should come here and explain but he has just gone home. I think that they should speak. It would be important that they spoke to explain their decisions as we do, I think it’s fundamental,” he added later.

Amidst all this, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi expressed his happiness on the comeback of his team to win the match after some of the poor outings in the season.

"It gives us great confidence beating a team of this quality. We really needed it... I was feeling OK because, on Saturday (a 2-1 loss to Roma), I saw good things from the team but with errors which in other matches wouldn’t have cost us,” said Inzaghi.
