Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are both known as some of the best footballers to ever play the game. After ruling Europe for many years while playing for different clubs, they are currently playing their club football outside of Europe. Ronaldo plays for the Saudi Arabian side, Al-Nassr while Messi plays for the MLS side, Inter Miami FC.

But, their fans still indulge in a fight in order to claim who would be the best football of all time. Their rivalry at the top level of football has managed to hit the headlines over the years. Even, now despite playing in different leagues, fans come up and tried to establish one better than the other one. Now, Ronaldo in a recent chat with the reporters claimed that their rivalry is over and after listening to that, fans shared their views. 

“We are respected all over the world, that's the most important thing” - Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portugues superstar said the rivalry is gone and fans loved it for so many years. "I don't see things like that, the rivalry is gone. It was good, spectators liked it. Those who like Cristiano Ronaldo don't have to hate Messi and vice versa. We've done well, we have changed the history of football. We are respected all over the world, that's the most important thing,” he further added.

"He's followed his path and I have followed mine, regardless of playing outside of Europe. From what I've seen, he's been doing well and so have I. The legacy lives on, but I don't see the rivalry like that. We shared the stage many times, it was 15 years. I'm not saying we're friends, I've never had dinner with him, but we're professional colleagues and we respect each other," Ronaldo concluded. This duo has been a class apart from others for over a decade as they have won a combined 79 trophies. Even, these two players are the only players to have scored over 800 goals each.
