Europe's biggest football carnival is all set to kick off on June 12, 12:00 AM IST with Turkey and Italy battling it out in a Group A encounter at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Ahead of the start, the official Euro 2020 handle posted a montage video of the best goals from the previous editions of the tournament.

The video consists of a sensation goal from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in France's opening game against Denmark in Euro 2000. The montage also includes goals from Andriy Shevchenko, Eric Dier and Gareth Bale etc.

Along with Italy and Turkey, Switzerland and Wales are also placed in Group A.

Group B comprise Belgium, Denmark, Russia and Finland while the Netherlands along with Austria, North Macedonia and Ukraine are placed in Group C. The 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia are slotted in Group D, along with the Czech Republic, England and Scotland. Spain, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden are placed in Group E while World Champions France, Germany, Hungary and defending champions Portugal comprise Group F, also considered as the group of death. In other matches on June 12, Wales and Switzerland will cross swords in a Group A encounter in Baku while Denmark will take on Finland in a Group B match at Copenhagen.

Coming back to Italy, the hosts' campaign has been jolted by injuries. Ahead of their opening clash, Lorenzo Pellegrini reaggravated his thigh injury and is likely to miss the entire tournament. Italy has asked UEFA for permission to replace the injured midfielder with Gaetano Castroville. Italy will also be without the services of midfielder Marco Verratti. Stefano Sensi has already been ruled out of the European Championship.
