Al-Nassr and Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo has ended 2023 with 54 goals to his name. This feat makes him the top goal scorer in the world for the year beating some top names. Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane are some of the names Ronaldo has overtaken.

The 54th goal of the season came during the game versus Al-Taawon where Ronaldo scored in the 92nd minute. As none of the other players are set for action till the start of 2024, Ronaldo took the much-deserved mantle.

The Portugal star took to social media and thanked his fans when he wrote: “Thankful for every moment”. The 38-year-old had put up every goal he had scored this year on his official Instagram channel.

The star while speaking to the media on this feat said “I am proud. I will continue, I feel good, I feel happy. Next year, I will try to do it again. I am very happy and as I told you before it is hard work and dedication. I have to say thank you to my teammates, without them this would not be possible. And the fans because they follow everywhere, I want to continue”

Al-Nassr star Ronaldo ended by saying “I started the decision to come here, nobody believed what I said. But this is the past. It doesn’t matter anymore. But the most important thing is the players want to come because they know the league is competitive. And the whole world now watches the league. I hope that if big players want to come, they will be welcomed”
