Recently, there is a new addition to the list of these clubs and it is none other than Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille. They have cleared the air on the rumors of a possible association with the Portuguese international for the next season of 2022-23. The reports from the Get French Football News have learned about the further developments in this whole scenario.

Olympique Marseille denied all the possibilities of signing Cristiano Ronaldo

The five-time Ballon d’Or award holder had earlier expressed his intention of leaving his current club Manchester United to be a part of the UEFA Champions League. But as per the current developments in the process that the Red Devils are not in a position to afford Ronaldo’s transfer as they had not that many good outings in the last season when they finished at the sixth spot last year.

Although, some of the fans of OM have urged the club on social media for signing the senior center-forward for the next football season. There is a possibility that the Ligue 1 club can play Ronaldo in the Champions League during the upcoming itinerary of football.

The sources have also learned that Marseille has listened to its fans but they have denied all other possibilities of signing Ronaldo. Notably, there were some discussions about his name but there was nothing as real and concrete about this news.

It eventually ended all rumors that were claiming that Marseille had reached Jorge Mendes, agent of Ronaldo for a probable transfer this summer.

Earlier, there have been a couple of clubs who rejected signing Ronaldo. This list includes the likes of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Sporting CP. But nothing translated into a transfer for Ronaldo and he is still playing with Manchester United in the current season of the Premier League.

Interestingly, it is the last year of Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United, he is all set to leave the Red Devils next season on the grounds of free transfer.
