On 22 March 2022, team India locked horns with Australia in Chennai in the third ODI for the series decider. However, Australia managed to win the match by 21 runs and thus, won the series 2-1. However, a video has gone viral from the match where Virat Kohli was seen colliding with Marcus Stoinis during India’s innings.


The incident took place during the 21st over. Marcus Stoinis was bowling while KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were batting. On the third delivery of that over, Rahul was beaten by a bouncer bowled by Stoinis. Then, the star Aussie all-rounder was seen colliding with Kohli while going back to his bowling stride.

Kohli was seen with an angry stare toward the bowler while Stoinis was seen with a cheeky smile. However, it seemed to be friendly banter as nothing between them got heated up. Speaking of the match, Australia batted first after winning the toss. They got bundled out for 269 runs in 49 overs. Both Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each while both Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel took two wickets each. For India, the skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came out to open the innings.

But, they failed short by 21 runs and India lost the third ODI. Virat Kohli scored 54 runs off 72  balls, including two fours and one six. Apart from him, other batters failed to come up with some significant contributions. Hardik Pandya showed some fight as he scored 40 runs off 40 balls, including three fours and one six. For Australia, Adam Zampa took four wickets for 45 runs in 10 overs. He won the player of the match award for his performance while Mitchell Marsh won the player of the series award for scoring 194 runs in three matches.
