The keeper-batter will now be seen in action during the three-match T20I series against West Indies. Thus, Harbhajan Singh recently went on to speak about his batting position. He had heaps of praises for Kishan.

Hence, the "Turbanator" felt that the aggressive batter should open the innings. While speaking on Star Sports' show Game Plan, Singh felt that if KL Rahul can bat at 5 in ODIs, then he can also bat at 5 in the shortest format of the game as well. He felt that it would strengthen India's middle-order.

“In my opinion, you don't have to prepare Ishan Kishan, he is a ready player. You have to play him, you have to think how you can get him in. If you can bat KL Rahul at No. 5 in ODIs, why not in this format?,” said Harbhajan Singh.

"We understand that when he (KL Rahul) comes down the order in ODIs, he is capable of playing the big shots. So if he bats at No. 5 in T20Is, I feel it will not be a bad thing because you will get a strong middle order and along with that if you want to score 40-60 runs in the first six, you need a fearless player like Ishan Kishan up the order," he added.

It is to be noted that Rahul had opened the innings during the three-match one-day series against South Africa, but couldn't get too many runs in those 50-over games. However, in the recently concluded ODI series against Windies, the Karnataka batter was seen batting in the middle-order. Thus, it will be exciting to see the Sharma-led side's batting order in the first T20I on Wednesday.
