Shoaib Akhtar is known for his aggressive nature on the field. However, the former cricketer can become aggressive off the field too when it comes to defending his countrymen. Recently, Mohammad Hafeez faced the wrath of fans for criticizing Rohit Sharma's body language. Now, the former Pakistani pacer will have his share of trolls.
In the clash between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Asif Ali and Fareed Ahmad had a poor war of words. This did not go well with the fans and most claimed that both had to be blamed for the issue. However, Shoaib Akhtar, the 47-year-old went all out in defence of Farid Ali and stated on Twitter that only one side of the story is being portrayed.
Biased & one sided representation of the incident. We all know what happened there. Come on guys, you're @ESPNcricinfo . https://t.co/7ACxqI7ite

The bowler further added that the Afghanistan players went over the board and the Indian team were far better. He went on to post the video of fans involved in a brawl and blamed Afghanistan fans for the same. Soon after he posted the tweet, fans started slamming him pointing out all of his on-field ugly moments.
Fareed Ahmad looked a bit pumped in the penultimate over as Asif Ali smashed a six just before the ball he was dismissed. However, the players from both nations had to involve and calm the duo down.
High Voltage match
The match between Pakistan and Afghanistan turned out to be a thriller and high-voltage match. The Pakistani skipper won the toss and elected to field first at Sharjah, the ground known for chasing. The Afghanistan batters struggled and finally crawled to reach the 129-run mark.
In what might have been an easy chase for Pakistan, Afghanistan made it tougher for the team. The fiery young bowlers from Afghanistan removed the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for a not. However, the Men in Green batters managed to withstand the collapse and won the match by one wicket on the back of Naseem Shah's heroics.
Let's take a look at tweets where fans roasted Shoaib Akhtar for defending Asif Ali:
He pushed him. Everyone saw.

Asif did wrong, he should be punishment by ICC. If player don't celebrate on taking wicket, will the batter do?

don’t try to be so innocent and nekdil every time We all know what happened in the field, we have saw it through multiple camera who pushed first & sorry it was Asif Ali who did this Atanki thing even in the gentleman’s game.

Okay, so you guys never sledged and abused others during your playing days? Hurling abuses and heated glances have been common during #INDvsPAK games too. Remember Afridi vs Gambhir? Sohail vs Prasad? But raising the bat invites severe penalty. wht abt spirit of the game? https://t.co/3GS2OE6yMF
— Avinash Sharma (@avinashrcsharma) September 8, 2022
how is it biased the Afghani bowler didn't go to punch him but only in the air. Asif got angry Nd pushed him Nd then wanted to hit him with the bat... shame on @TheRealPCB.@ICC should take strict action against him. https://t.co/O47uTjiAN1
