The rivalry between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is famous in the history of IPL. MI are the most successful team in this tournament. But, RCB are yet to win this trophy for the first time. Still, fans always get to see an enthralling battle between these sides every time.

However, along with fans, some players have also enjoyed that rivalry both on and off the field. Mitchell McClenaghan played for MI from 2015 to 2019. He is even famous for his cheeky tweets and banter on social media regarding rival teams and their fans. Now, he came up with an epic banter with an RCB fan on Twitter.

On 23 April, RCB took on RR at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. During that clash, one RCB fan wrote: “We RCBIANS don't want fans like u mitch”. In reply to that, McClenaghan took a cheeky dig and wrote: “Don’t like trophies?”. It seemed that the Kiwi pacer took a dig at that fan by reminding him about their trophy drought. Seeing such a savage reply, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform. Speaking of the form of these teams in IPL 2023 so far, MI (seventh) and RCB (sixth) both are tied with six points in six matches. 

Speaking of the match between RCB and RR, RCB batted first and scored 189 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell scored 77 runs off 44 balls and Faf du Plessis scored 62 runs off 39 balls. For RR, Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma took two wickets each. Along with them, both Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed one wicket each. In reply, RR reached 92 runs for one wicket in 10 overs. Both Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler scored a duck in this match for their respective teams.
