‘IPL ke bahane bas aapse nazrein ladana hai’ - Fans react to viral image of Glenn Maxwell having chat with Preity Zinta after PBKS vs RCB clash in IPL 2023

On 20 April 2023, Punjab Kings (PBKS) locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing IPL. PBKS were looking for another win in front of the home crowd. But, they failed as RCB defeated them by 24 runs. Mohammed Siraj won the Player of the Match award for hIs outstanding bowling performance.

However, after the match, players from both teams were seen meeting and greeting each other with all smiles. Now, an image has gone viral where Glenn Maxwell was seen having a chat with one of PBKS owners and the Bollywood actress, Preity Zinta. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Not only Maxwell, but also Faf du Plessis, and coach Mike Hesson were also there. However, Glenn Maxwell played for PBKS (formerly known as KXIP) earlier in IPL. He was a part of the franchise from 2014 to 2017. So, it was more of a reunion for the Aussie all-rounder with Zinta. Speaking of the match, RCB batted first and scored 174 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis scored 84 runs off 56 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Maxwell managed a golden duck as he got out on the first ball against Harpreet Brar. In reply, PBKS got bundled out for 150 runs in 18.2 overs. 

Mohammed Siraj took four wickets for 21 runs in four overs and won the Player of the Match award. Faf played as an impact player. Hence, Virat Kohli led the team in his absence. After the win, during the post-match presentation, Kohli said: “This (win) does not make us an invincible team or the league position before today did not make us a bad team. The table cannot define your mood, when you have just played five or six games. Maintain our processes and stay in the moment. At the half-way stage, the idea was to take the game to the opposition in the first six overs. We broke the game open right there and our fielding was brilliant as well.”
