In the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has had a successful start. In fact, the team captained by Faf du Plessis has won 4 out of 7 matches they have played in the season so far. The quest for Bangalore to win the elusive trophy may finally be over, according to early predictions from fans.

Meanwhile, former Mumbai Indians (MI) and New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan recently praised du Plessis and allrounder Glenn Maxwell on Twitter and said, ‘While I’m not an RCB fan - I’m a Faf and Maxwell fan. Damn, these guys are playing beautifully. #RCBvRR #IPL2023’. However, one of the RCB fans didn’t like it and said, "We RCBIANS don't want fans like u Mitch."

But McClenaghan didn’t step back and came up with a hilarious which surely humiliated many RCB fans on social media. He replied to the fan, "Don’t like trophies?". As we all know, RCB always had a star-studded lineup since 2008 but is yet to get their hands on the coveted IPL trophy due to which they get trolled on social media.

Meanwhile, the reason why McClenaghan heaped praise on du Plessis and Maxwell was their brilliant batting display in the 32nd match of the IPL against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Both batters were on fire as they counter-attacked with all the intent. The third wicket stand was worth 127 and just when RR was feeling the pressure, Jaiswal came up with a terrific direct hit to get rid of Du Plessis. R Ashwin got Maxwell out on the last ball of his spell, and RCB never recovered from that wicket.

Du Plessis scored 62 runs off 39 balls, which included 8 fours and 2 sixes, on the other hand, Maxwell smashed 77 runs off just 44 deliveries with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes and took the team to a fighting total of 189 runs. In response, RR was restricted to the score of 182 runs, courtesy of a brilliant bowling display in the death overs by RCB.
