'Apun yahan se jaayega nahi' - Fans react as Rajasthan Royals include Riyan Parag in playing XI despite his poor form in IPL 2023

Riyan Parag has once again been included in the Rajasthan Royals playing XI against LSG in match 26 of IPL 2023.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match 26 of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR are coming off a win in their last match against Gujarat Titans and would like to continue their 3-match winning streak against LSG as well.

After losing the toss, LSG were asked to bat first by RR captain Sanju Samson. Meanwhile, many fans were surprised when they got to know that the Royals have included batter Riyan Parag again in their playing XI despite his poor form in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. In the three IPL 2023 games Parag has participated in for the Royals, he has twice come out on 7 and scored 20 against Punjab Kings. 

Even, the 15th edition of the IPL saw Parag struggle with the Rajasthan Royals, managing only 183 runs in 17 games at an average and strike rate of 16.64 and 138.64, respectively. One of the players that has received support from the Royals team management is Parag. If he doesn't do well today, he might lose his spot in the club.

RR defeated GT convincingly in Ahmedabad

Regarding RR's most recent game, they prevailed over the defending champion GT. After winning the toss, RR asked GT to add runs to the score. As GT batted first, they lost Wriddhiman Saha in the first over, but after that, they stabilised the ship. Jos Buttler ran Sai Sudharsan out, but Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill put on a strong partnership after that.

Gill was caught at long off by Sandeep Sharma, preventing him from reaching his fifty. Adam Zampa dropped David Miller early in his inning, and he went on to score 46 runs, overall. Also, Abhinav Manohar hit a few huge sixes. GT was able to reach a fighting total of 177 runs because to his stunning knock.

When attempting to hit the target, RR got off to a terrible start, losing both of their openers during the power play for just 4 runs. Devdutt Padikkal, the RR captain, and Sanju Samson, later, stabilised the innings, but Padikkal was playing at a poor strike rate and left after scoring 26 runs off 25 deliveries.
