The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to begin on 5 October in India. But, ahead of this mega event, many changes regarding the announced schedule have been informed to the Indian Cricket Board and the Apex Council of Cricket. Especially, for Pakistan, reports suggested that their first match will be on 6 October in Hyderabad.
But, their second game at the same venue will take place on 10 October instead of 12 October. Then, the epic clash between them and India also might get shifted to 14 October instead of 15 October due to the festival, Navratri. Now, according to new and recent reports, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have requested the Board for rescheduling the match between Pakistan and England at the Eden Garden from 12 to 11 November.
“ We have got the best ground in the IPL” - Snehasish Ganguly
As quoted by ESPNCricinfo, CAB had a meeting with city Police authorities on 3 August and understood that it will be quite impossible for the Police to manage both the prestigious event along with the match. On 12 November, people in Bengal will celebrate the Kali Puja and hence, it will be difficult for them. However, nothing has been officially announced yet. Speaking of Eden Gardens, it hosted three games during the 2011 ODI World Cup and India were not a part of those. They were scheduled to have the India vs England clash but due to it's deemed fitness.
However, earlier, the CAB President, Snehasish Ganguly confirms tight security on Pakistan matches. He said: "We are satisfied. I really want to thank Jay Shah, the Indian Cricket Board and the Apex Council of Cricket. I was working for the last 4 months. I have been working for the good matches. We show the designs and everything. We have got the best ground in the IPL. We never had question mark about this. So a lot of plus minus includes in these kinds of decisions. Jay Shah promised to give me good matches. I thanked Mr. Jay Shah and the Indian Cricket Board that they have a good perspective about Eden Gardens."

This is poor management by BCCI as this hurts Cricket fans most who will have to reschedule their plans again👍
