Team India will lock horns with Australia in the third ODI of the ongoing series in Chennai on 22 March 2023. An enthralling series decider awaits both teams and fans as the series is tied on 1-1. However, Suryakumar Yadav has been in the headlines throughout the series due to his poor run of form in ODIs.

In two matches so far, Yadav has managed two golden ducks. He has looked absolutely clueless against the inswinging deliveries from Mitchell Starc. So, fans were not happy with such failures from the star batter and some raised their opinion to drop him from the next game. Some also slammed the team for overlooking players like Sanju Samson over him. Now, the head coach, Rahul Dravid came up and shared his opinion on the same matter.

While talking to media persons ahead of the third ODI, Dravid said: “Not really concerned about Surya. He got two very good balls. One of the things about Surya is that he is learning the 50-overs game. The T20 is slightly different. In T20, he has played 10 years of the Indian T20 League".

"He (Surya) has played a lot of T20 cricket. He has played a lot of high-pressure T20 games. Even though he has played a lot of T20 cricket I think he has not played a lot of one-day cricket. We need to give him some time and be patient with it. We certainly see the upside of him doing well," he further added. 

Suryakumar Yadav is currently the number one-ranked batter in the shortest format of the game. He has shown his wide range of shorts in the 20-20 format for the Men in Blue. But, he has failed miserably so far to replicate such heroics in the 50-over format. So, it will be interesting to see if he gets another chance in Chennai. It will be more interesting how he will look to do well in the match if he gets the opportunity. However, listening to that backing from the head coach, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform.
