Kl Rahul has been in the headlines since the start of this ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After having a poor Test series in Bangladesh with the bat, fans were hoping for him to get back in form in this series against the Aussies. But, in the first three innings, Rahul scored just 38 runs and failed miserably as an opener.
Former players like Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev also claimed that the Men in Blue should drop Rahul and consider Shubman Gill for a better balance in the playing XI. Another former India cricketer, Venkatesh Prasad shared some tweets to accuse the team India management of favoring Rahul over other batters.

After the second Test in Delhi, fans were expecting to see KL Rahul out of the squad for the last two matches. They were claiming that it was tough for Rohit Sharma to drop him as he is the vice-captain of the side. But, the team India selectors showed faith in him and kept him in the squad. But, they removed him from the vice-captaincy duties. Hence, fans were expecting that now KL Rahul might get dropped.
But, regarding that, Rohit Sharma said: “I said it after the last game also. When we talk about players going through a tough time, anyone with potential will be given enough time to prove himself. Being vice-captain or not being vice-captain doesn’t tell you anything. At that point in time when he was the vice-captain, he was probably the senior most. His removal of vice-captaincy doesn’t indicate anything.”
However, Rohit Sharma removed all the confusion at the toss as he won it and elected to bat first. Then, he confirmed that KL Rahul has been dropped and Shubman Gill has been added to the playing XI. After hearing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform.
