India and Sri Lanka locked horns in the third and last of the three-match T20I series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot The hosts’ skipper Hardik Pandya won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at the batting paradise of SCA in Rajkot. Batting first, the men in blue posted a massive total of 228 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, the Islanders fell 92 runs short of the target and lost the match by a margin of 91 runs. Eventually, Hardik’s men won the three-match T20I series by a margin of 2-1 with an amazing win in the series decider at Rajkot.

It was another time for the one-man show from the World number one T20I batter and star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav who smashed 112 runs off just 51 balls.

Speaking of the action of the match, the men in blue got an early blow when young opener Ishan Kishan fell prey to Dilshan Madhushanka in the first over of the match after scoring only one run. Then came a crucial 49-run stand between opener Shubman Gill and number three batter Rahul Tripathi. The former played a knock of 46 with two boundaries and three sixes to his name. Whereas, Tripathi contributed with 35 runs off just 16 balls with five boundaries and two sixes on his credit.

But something fiery was waiting on the day, it was once again from the willow of World number one T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav. The 32-year-old delivered up to his stature of being 360 degrees in all directions of the field. He smashed an explosive century-knock of 112 runs off just 51 balls with seven boundaries and nine massive sixes.

While chasing the target, Dasun Shanaka’s men got a bit of a good foundation with a 44-run stand between openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. But just after the departure of Kusal Mendis, the visitors lost the wickets at regular intervals. Finally, they fell 92 runs short of the target and lost the match by 91 runs.
