The cricketing fans are just a few hours away for the beginning of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. The first season in 2023 was a huge success with Mumbai Indians winning the title. Delhi Capitals and Meg Lanning finished the season as runners-up as the massive crowd had gathered to watch the teams play. 


In this second season the cricket is expected to get bigger and better as the leading stars come to India. Names like Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are set to represent the best of Indian talents. Elysse Perry, Kate Cross, Beth Mooney, and Alyssa Healy will put the foreign flavor during the month long tournament.

India’s young spinner had a breakout 2023 with the ball which saw her gain a lot of fans. Shreyanka Patil has started to become a bowler of great repute as seen during the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. The 21-year-old will be a player to watch out for during the WPL 2024 tournament. 

4- Chamari Athapaththu – UP Warriorz 



The Sri Lankan stalwart wasn’t picked for the 2023 edition and missed out during the WPL 2024 auctions. UP Warriorz drafted in the Lankan legend when a few seasoned players pulled out. Known to be one of the finest batters of this era, Chamari Athapaththu will be a huge player to watch out for during WPL 2024. 

3- Amandeep Kaur – Mumbai Indians 


The defending champions Mumbai Indians decided to spring a surprise by picking the unknown Amandeep Kaur. The 20-year-old left-arm-wrist spinner could be one of the players to watch out for during WPL 2024. Kaur is a huge spinner of the ball and can beat the best batters with her flight and guile. 

2- Titas Sadhu – Delhi Capitals 


The right-arm pacer played a key role in India winning the gold medal during the Asian Games last year. Titas Sadhu is set be one of the most promising players of WPL 2024. With an ability to swing and seam, Sadhu is a natural wicket-taker. Delhi Capitals will be delighted if she can continue her good run of form during the upcoming season. 

1- Lea Tahuhu – Gujarat Giants 


The Kiwi pacer was drafted by the Gujarat Giants team as a replacement player. With 78 wickets from 80 and an economy of 6 runs per over this might be one of the smartest moves of the season. Lea Tahuhu will be a key player to watch out for during the WPL 2024 season.
